How can you make a difference?

The Education Programme Management and Data Analysis Officer reports to the: Education Manager (Quality) P4 for supervision. The Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the planning, monitoring, evaluation process preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative tasks to contribute to programme management, monitoring, data collection and validation, data analysis, and reporting to ensure that the programmes are carried out according to schedule, aligned with intended objectives (e.g. delivering the services to the targeted beneficiaries, meeting the needs on the ground, achieving value for money etc.) and that the evidence and recommendations from the monitoring data will inform the next phases of the programme.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Setting standards for programme performance planning, monitoring and data collection, in particular the multi-donor programme called Quality Basic Education for Children (QBEP4C). Conduct programme data compilation, verification and data analysis to assess the programme progress, strength, weaknesses/gaps, risks and opportunities.
Provide professional technical assistance to the programme financial management to ensure alignment with UNICEF rules and regulations as well as specific financial reporting requirements of different donors.
Provide capacity building to UNICEF Education staff and partners (NGOs/CSOs) in programme planning, management, data collection, verification and quality assurance, reporting towards effective partnership management and result-based reporting.
Networking, partnership building, innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education: A University Degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, programme management, psychology, education, sociology or other social science field is required.

Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in social development analysis (involving quantitative analysis) and programming at the international and/or in a developing country is required.

Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English both speaking and writing is required.

Desirables:

Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies.
Relevant experience in program/project monitoring, data collection, validation, visualization and analysis, using large datasets in a UN system agency or other development organizations is an advantage.
Experience in providing training and capacity building on monitoring, data collection and validation to the staff/colleagues that have no data analysis or monitoring experience is an advantage
Good command of other data and statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, R, MS Access etc. is an advantage.
Good knowledge of data analytics with AI is an asset.
Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset
