CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

He/she will be responsible for support to at risks girls and boys through child protection case management process and safely referral guideline and ensure confidential case management information and filing through the CPIMS+. He/she will participate regularly in case management coaching and supervision with case management supervisor (PO) Work with the child protection team to ensure close links between case management and our work with community-based child protection mechanism and six grave violation monitoring and reporting mechanism. In collaboration with the Project Officer, to facilitate the effective and successful of project implementation in assigned area.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Identify individual cases through regular presence in the community and accept referrals from other agencies and community partners.
Conduct initial (rapid) assessments for CP cases and prioritize them according to risk level.

Develop case plans that respond to needs addressed in rapid assessments and seek support of
supervisor when necessary.
Regularly monitor and support to children and families through home visits, providing guidance, advice and emotional support, community mediation and referrals.
Work with supervisors and managers to arrange case conferences for complex cases and ensure
children receive multi-disciplinary support.

Assist and support Project Officer to train, coach and support community members in identification and monitoring activities for case management work.
Assist and support Project Officer to train, coach and support community members on existence of referral pathways and related service providers.

Manage cases in line with SOPs, adhere to standard documentation processes and follow best practice guidance.

Provide and distribute assistant materials in terms of Child Protection Program.
Assign, monitor and evaluate the progress of the work with community members and Community volunteer.
Provide regular monthly reports to Project Officer
Use the system established by the interagency database team to file all open and closed cases, or if necessary, use the system of filing to respond to local needs in coordination with the database coordinator.
Build relationships with local communities, schools’ teachers, and service providers to identify and address child protection concerns.

Collaborate with MRM/GOSRCV focal and CPiE advisor to contribute to SC’s continued monitoring and reporting on the 6 grave violations against child rights.

Ensure community mobilization, and coordinate with the stakeholders at the assigned areas.
Ensure the quality of child protection services to children and the community
Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor and coordinator.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

University degree or equivalent experiences.
At least one year experience working in child protection, CP case management is desirable
Ability to work in a high-conflict environment with sensitivity and cultural awareness.
Ability of using computer is preferable.
Demonstrated skills and experience in implementing child protection case management, caring for child survivor of sexual abuse is an asset..
Understand child development and well-being, Effective listening, speaking, and written communication skill with children.
High motivation to work under difficult circumstances.
Understanding and experiences in establishing networking and coordinating and strengthening referral mechanism at a community, interagency and institutional level.
In case of emergency, Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Previous experience working for an NGO or other non-profit organization, is an asset.
